Last Day of Work

Another beautiful Florida morning. (Wish we could go to the beach!!) Every morning I wake up and realize that last night wasn't "the night." I heard the bath running earlier than usual this morning and wondered if Kelly was in labor. I even called Gene to alert him, just in case. (It wasn't.) It's so hard waiting and not knowing ...

Yesterday was Kelly's last day of work. She felt odd leaving, but I know she has had it with work for quite some time. I'm sure it will be a relief not to have to get up early and head off there on Monday. At the very last minute (AGAIN), the HR department told her that she couldn't stop work yet if she didn't have the baby, even though the midwife had written a medical excuse. It all ended up working out, but that was after upsetting her on her last day.

Kelly invited me along to lunch yesterday with one of her co-workers. We had an absolutely wonderful Indian meal at Memories of India II, right down the street. I had chana masala, sort of a chickpea curry, that I got very spicy. Lots of goodies on the side. A perfect meal -- and great company too!

Hopefully now that Kelly doesn't have to work she can take it easy and let things happen in their own time. No matter what, it shouldn't be very long until we get to hold Eleanor in our arms!
