Well, using licorice for labor induction didn't work. First, Kelly is not thrilled with the taste so that doesn't help. I probably ate more than she did! I really love those Bassett's Allsorts. I guess labor inducing foods/drinks work by irritating the bowel, which then gets the uterus contracting. Kelly seems to have a really, really sturdy GI system. Nothing much irritates it. (Very much like her Dad!)It was nice and cool last night and Kelly slept well. She had a (kind of bizarre late pregnancy) dream that she had given birth to Eleanor but didn't remember a thing. She said I told her she had gone to the hospital because of a long labor, but she didn't have a cesarean. She asked how big Eleanor was and I said, "I think 10 lbs. 10 oz." She remembers leaving her sleeping in bed but she didn't really look at her and got up to "tie loose ends up at work." Everyone was very detached. She also remembers seeing a bag of licorice allsorts at a store and getting ready to buy it but then remembering she didn't need it anymore. She already had given birth.
I picked up a teeny book on baby signing and had given it to Kelly and Clint. I thought Clint would be interested in signing and he definitely is. He has learned so much already and is very excited about teaching baby Eleanor signs so she can communicate with them before she learns to talk. The more I read about it, the more I think it's a great idea. It's less frustrating to a baby when they can communicate their needs. Clint sent me a couple of YouTube videos with one baby, at different ages, signing. In this video she is 11 months old -- so cute. I can't wait to see Eleanor signing. Actually, I just can't wait to meet Eleanor. Hope she decides to make her appearance very soon!

My belly looks so big in this picture! I think my face looks like Dad here, too. I look a lot more "Oh, I'm sooo over this pregnancy" in pictures than I feel...which I guess is a good thing. But, believe me, I'm ready to meet this little girl!
